PHILOSPHY
Utilitarianism evaluates actions based on their outcomes, aiming to maximize happiness or minimize suffering for the greatest number of people (the greatest good for the greatest number). It’s a form of consequentialism, meaning the morality of actions depends solely on their results, and following this concept, the morally right action is what benefits the greatest number of people.


FOUNDER

Jeremy Bentham is credited as the founder of utilitarianism, whose ideas were later expanded on by John Stuart Mill.
